Taylor Swift Talks Cover Songs & Her Favorite Season With Nashville Scene

Taylor Swift is on the cover of Nashville Scene’s 2011 Fall Guide. She talked to the weekly Nashville publication (before she played a hometown show in Nashville) about being on tour and her favorite season which is, of course, fall. Taylor has spent most of 2011 playing sold out shows around the world on her Speak Now World Tour but is still amazed at the thousands of people that turn out to see her every night.
“These are 15,000 people who could be doing anything with their Friday or Saturday night,” Taylor told the magazine. “So the fact that we’re playing these sold-out stadiums and these arenas, it just blows my mind.”

Taylor has been covering different songs during an acoustic break at nearly all of her shows, often choosing a song by an artist from the city she’s playing. She found choosing a song to cover by a Nashville artist to be difficult, however.
“It’s going to be a tough choice, picking a Nashville artist to cover, because they’re all my favorites,” she said. “It’s going to be a painstakingly difficult choice. You’ve got to pick from all your friends, you’ve got to pick from all your mentors, you have to pick from all your heroes — people who took you out on the road when you just had one single out.”
As for why she loves the fall, her reasons have to do with change. And love. “Fall is my favorite for a lot of reasons,” she said. “Things are really changing, and you can really see it. I’ve had a lot of loves in the fall and inspiration-filled songwriting moments.”
Taylor will release a live CD/DVD combo of her Speak Now World Tour on November 21.
