Taylor Swift Invite's ill Fan To ACM Aawards

Taylor Swift has a date for the Academy of Country Music awards.
The country star asked a fan, Kevin McGuire, of Somerdale, N.J., to the awards show. McGuire is 18 and has leukemia. His sister had started a campaign on Facebook to get Swift to go with him to his prom.
Swift writes in a Facebook post of her own that she can’t make it to the prom, but that she’d like for McGuire to accompany her to the awards ceremony April 1 in Las Vegas. She is nominated for three awards.
A spokesman for Swift confirms that she wrote the post. A post on the Facebook page for McGuire thanks her for the invitation. His sister did not immediately return a message seeking comment

Taylor Swift Seeks Longevity

                             
At just 21, Taylor Swift has accomplished a lot in her career. She won ACM Entertainer of the Year Award in April, has No. 1 songs, multi-platinum albums and a sold-out world tour under her belt, has appeared in movies and television shows and graced the cover of numerous major magazines. With a resume like that, what’s left for Taylor to accomplish?
“There is longevity,” Taylor said. “I have so many heroes that are simply my heroes because of their longevity and because of their cultural relevancy and their musical relevancy over decades. People who I feel have been so incredible and authentic at what they do for long periods of time, and I want to keep doing this. That’s the next goal – just keep on doing this and hopefully people like it.”
People definitely like what Taylor is doing. She played for nearly 50,000 at her Speak Now World Tour’s first stop in Detroit and then headed to Nashville to close down CMA Music Festival at LP Field. The next tour stop on Taylor’s schedule is in St. Paul, Minnesota for a two night stand. She’ll also play three more stadium shows this month, at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field on June 18 and two nights at Boston’s Gillette Stadium on June 25 & June 26.
